I can't remember the last time it felt like a real cold winter in Los Angeles but it is now (although this is only a sign of impending global warming that is real) and I intend to soak up those gloomy clouds and crisp winds with loved ones.

A couple weekends ago when my dad and I took a little road trip up to Cupertino to pay our respects to my grandma.
We miss you.

The rain filled up the dry sad-looking basins along the 152 and you can't help but breathe a deep sigh of relief seeing nature return to its intended form.
(even amidst the gloom)

I loved having a whole day with him... these are the moments life is made of. (truly)
I can't remember the last time we spent that much time together just talking or riding in silence.
Love you dad.

= = =

We have about 3 months before our big day so lately we've been tying up some random to-do list items that are popping up.
It was a moment for us to come downtown and grab some breakfast.

This past weekend I was feeling some cabin fever at home so it was time for a walk out on the beach with DH.

I recall spending hours on the 405 in traffic just trying to inch my way to the beach when I was in high school
But now that I live nearly 5-10 minutes from the beautiful beaches here in LA, I never go.
My 16 year old self would be so ashamed!

I hope wherever you are, you take the time to go see some body of water near you.
Looking out onto any horizon that isn't buttoned in helps force some perspective on how little we (and our problems) may be.
Deep breath.
