It is hours before the madness of dolling up and driving into town to celebrate New Years begins.
Before eyelashes and sequins keep me busy in the evening, it is imperative I take a step (as we all ought to) to reflect and set goals for the new year.
When we draft our resolutions, they only come to mind as we cringe at what we can no longer tolerate. The unpleasantness of the status quo is what drives us to make this list. And I, for one, plan on reflecting throughout the next 365 days to ensure I am at least keeping up with 3-4 if not all.
So here we go:
1. Wear lipstick
Preferably the red kind.
With a stronger sense of my femininity, I feel drawn to the rogue red that cannot be matched by the sparkling shiny lipgloss of my earlier 20's.
2. Cook more. Eat out less
I'll start taking requests.
In the past three weeks, I've actively made an effort to eat out less and the changes are already quite dramatic.
3. Be present.
Life is passing you by.
Even the slightest distraction- can strip you of what you're meant to enjoy and pay attention to.
This will be a great challenge for me as a chronic multi-tasker.
4. Work out.
At least 3 times a week.
This is not in an effort to get skinny as it is more of an effort to get some good curves.
You know what I mean?
5. Take more photographs.
Take less selfies.
After all, I did make one of those "I swear I'll use it every day" promises in justifying such a heavy purchase.
6. Simplify le wardrobe
And stop the hoarding.
With plans to make yet another move within the next calendar year, I am completely aware that I cannot continue to collect clothes and shoes at the rate I am currently at. (*sob*)
Besides… one needs to filter out the old, bad and ugly to make way for the closet of her dreams…
7. Take more vacations
Even if it's just for the weekend.
8. Buy more flowers
For home and office.
Because they really do make a big difference.
At least for me.
(Hint hint boyfriend)
Hydrangeas, peonies and ranunculus
9. Eat more macarons
They're even more delightful for breakfast.
and most importantly…
10. Drink more champagne
Especially the sweet ones.
My mouth is salivating at the thought.

Okay lovelies, it's that time!
Time to get the hair curled and heel straps fastened for a lovely dinner in downtown LA.

Let's ring in the new year with great health & blessings.
