Lady in Red.

There's something to be said about the power of red

Typically, it's been seen in beautiful gowns
I have to say, I love that man's facial expression in the front row.

But now what has been catching my eye, is the masculine take on such a feminine color in the form of red suits
The chucks.. the bra... it just looks so cool.

I have it in my right mind to get me one too.

Bright colors make me happy.
And so does bright colored food.

Last weekend I discovered Salt's Cure in Santa Monica...
My steak & eggs

His bacon burger.
So. Good.

And this week's two featured outfit of the day via Instagram (@PrettyStems):

My Timberlands came out to play!

{T-Shirt: F21, Shorts: Levis, Sneakers: Converse, Clutch: ASOS, Sunnies: Ray Bans, Beanie: gifted}
Things are warming up for the weekend and I couldn't be happier about it.
So my new Ray Bans also came out!

And guess what?
I love them so much.
How about it for selfies in the car though?

It's Friday and the weekend schedule is packed with events and I couldn't be more excited to see it come.
Let's make it count today so we can just relax and enjoy the weekend~

NY Wrap Up.

It's Wednesday and I am just now getting to the final wrap up of my New York trip.
And that's just how it is.

This is going to be a mish mash of day 3 and 4:
With our hotel being literally adjacent to Grand Central Station, it made sense to spend a bit of time here.

I was honestly waiting for a flash mob crew to come out as I snapped this photo.
It really isn't as big as I thought it would be in here...

But nevertheless!
It was time for lunch so we ate right here:
And it was absolutely delicious.
And heavy.

But I wanted Magnolia Bakery anyway.
I know there's one in LA, but I never even bothered to try it.
But after this banana pudding, I'll be on the hunt first thing this weekend.
I promise.
We'll be united again!

After lunch at Grand Central Station, we moseyed on down to Herald Square/Park?
It was beautiful.

In the streets

After some shopping on Fifth Avenue, we were hungry and had to indulge in some pizza

And then it was time to get ready for another night out on the town

Elevator shot with my sisters

Although New York night life is fun, I'm going to have to say.. Los Angeles still does it better.

And after all the hype, I finally had halal.
And the legit one on 53rd & 6th.
It was okay... but I still want tacos and carne asada nachos for my night life late night grub.

And finally on our last day, we went to East Village for velvet fries

Okay these were amazing

Then it was off to Crif Dogs!
My bacon wrapped avocado and jalapeƱo hot dog.

And then to seal our sweet trip, it was dessert with all our friends together at Spot before we headed back to pack up and go

And with that wraps up our trip.
We took turns passing out on the plane back to LA but we're here now and I couldn't be happier.

I am beyond sure that I'm destined to be an LA gal, but I would love to go back to New York again to see all the nooks and crannies I missed.

Have a fabulous week friends!
Let's make it count.

Central Park & The Met.

Hello friends!
This is going to be the fastest blog post I've ever completed as my sister waits impatiently in our hotel room for me to finish so we can hit up Fifth Ave. for some shopping.

Yesterday, we woke up early (early being... noon) to a beeeaaauuutiful day in New York!
I had been anticipating cold weather but it was warmer than most trips up north to San Fran believe it or not.

So we took full advantage and took the subway to Central Park.

Bee-tee-dub, this is my first time on any subway.

It honestly wasn't as bad as everyone told me it would be.
So far:
1.) I have not spotted any rats.
2.) There haven't been any suspect looking passengers doing bizarre things (by my definition).
3.) And it has only spelled of urine once or twice in which both cases, I simply breathed through my mouf.

{Jacket: MMC, Tank: ON, Plaid shirt: JCrew, Body bag: Calvin Klein, Sunnies: Ray Ban Clubmasters}

I don't want to jinx myself but we haven't gotten lost or accidentally taken the wrong subway a single time yet.

Me and my big sis
Who doesn't look so big next to me...

I always imagined Central Park to look like that one episode of Sex in the City where Charlotte is afraid to run when she was preggers.
But instead, it looked like this.
And I cannot complain.
It was so serene.

I am not really big on nature or exercising, so... we were over it.
And it was off to the Metropolitan Museum of Art!

...I could not believe how many people were here... on a weekday.
I'd be surprised if LACMA ever generated this much activity.

The view from the steps of the Met

Jennifer's "breakfast" since she slept in and missed our divine continental breakfast

Big sis, little sis & me.

After the Met, we were starving so I had to try what everyone claims rivals In N Out burgers in Cali.

I really went to Shake Shack with an open mind...
But c'mon.
In N Out totally trumps this.

Even if it's filled with gooey cheese.

My essentials for the day: phone + Clubmasters

After a quick shopping trip to SoHo, we came back to the hotel for a little ourves d'oeuvres at the lounge before getting ready to go out with some NY friends

And then... it was time for the craziest night of the calendar year thus far.

I had to wear the faux fur.

Okay, I'm being rushed.
I have to go now.

But it will be another whirlwind of a night here so I'm excited!
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Time Square & Hagi.

My friends can attest to this: I am not one for tourist-y activities in a new city.
I'd much rather take in the must-have food joints and partake in boutique shopping.
But one thing I could not pass up tonight was a trip to Time Square.

I had to throw on a beanie and scarf after realizing shortly that once the sun goes down here, and the wind kicks in... it gets rather COLD.

Our friend Howard played tour guide and took us on a shortcut from our hotel through the Rockefeller Center en route to Time Square.

My little sister and le Easter egg

The Lego store's window display of a Lego version of the Rockefeller Center.

And off we go...

And then... ta da!
The bright lights and the energy combined made Time Square feel exactly the way I thought it would.

My big sis & I

The sisterhood on those red stairs

I found Elmo!
And he was very affectionate...

So. The 3 of us sisters are plain awful when hungry... collectively.
And we were fast approaching that threshold.
Howard took us to Hagi Sake Bar near Time Square for some yummy yakitori!
The yummiest apple sake I've ever had.

 Grilled peppers

 Chicken gizzard

 Steak tofu with mozzarella cheese

 Kimchi fried rice

Pork, chicken & duck

Alrighty friends.
It's late here but I'm still on LA time.
I'm in bed now so it's time to log some Zzz's so we can hit up the MET, Central Park & some shopping in Soho before raging.

I can't wait!!
Good night from New York.
It's been wonderful thus far.
