Chilly.

It's been a while...
And I'm sad to say, it is SO cold out here these days!
But that hasn't stopped me and any of my loves from spending the weekends out and about.

[Leather jumper: DKNY, gifted by Annabelle, sunnies: F21]

[Thigh High Boots: Bumper]

[Belt: Vintage, Ring: Tiffany & Co., Watch: Burberry]

Me explaining to one of my best friends that no really, my heels are not that high.
He said, "As long as I'm taller than you."
Done and done.

Wearing thigh high boots  is a great substitute to wearing pants or leggings.
Especially if you want to pull out a spring dress in the middle of winter.

And of course, a Sunday isn't complete without spending time with my beautiful sisters.
Here's my little one

Happy Monday everyone!
Let's make it a great week!

Victoria Beckham.

Victoria Beckham's Fall 2011 Ready to Wear collection has been critiqued and has not only passed, but has been noted as being 'stronger' this season.
Phew~

Here are my favorites:

Beckham's signature blacks:

A burst of color and shape:

My personal favorite
Neutrals:

Congratulations to Victoria Beckham on her new baby girl.
I bet she will become a fashion icon.
Or a soccer player.

Happy Fashion Week!

Jason Wu.

Oh how Jason Wu steals my heart with his style.
He never disappoints.

For his Fall 2011 Ready to Wear collection:

All Black Everything.
I would wear each and every one of these outfits.

Bursts of color.
Love the red and lace.

Feathers!
How cool does #2 look?

Breathtaking gowns that we should see on the red carpet.
Honestly.
They're divine.

Skirts and feminine blouses.
 Love Liu Wen's embroidered skirt.

White and black lace.
Perfect for a Sunday afternoon tea party.

Indulgence.

This weekend I have been utterly taken with two of my most tempting vices:
Eating & Shopping.

The cause of this over-indulgence is debatable, but I have come to a fair conclusion:
I miss San Francisco.

So I ate:
Brazilian BBQ

Peruvian loma saltado

Cupcakes

The newest pastries in town: mini bundt cakes

So today, I had to live it up before the work week begins.
And who better to do it with than my sisters?

We headed out to LA for one last hoorah.
With 80 degree weather and Melrose waiting for the 3 of us, it ended up being a perfect day with my perfect sisters.

[Skirt: Planet Funk, Shirt: Miley, Wedges: Qupid, Sunnies: Gucci]

[Bangles: F21]

[Necklace: H&M]

So we had a time constraint working against us.
But that did not stop destiny from sending me to a shoe store that had a pair of Sam Edelman's I've been eyeing for months!

And with a charming shoe store owner who offered me 50% off and a reference to the newest chic Mexican restaurant (does that exist?) in town, how is a woman supposed to say no?

Welcome Jessica's newest edition!

Aaand we're back to having self-control right about now.
Let's make it a fabulous week!

Rachel Zoe.

Rachel Zoe is one of those stylists you just can't knock.
Even though I sometimes cringe watching her mini-meltdowns, I still can't help but like her (and her crazy assistants).

For the launch of New York Fashion Week, Rachel Zoe debuted her first collection but since she's definitely preggers, couldn't do the big showdown at the Lincoln Center.

But I was still ooo-ing and ahh-ing as I poured over her collection that truly is ready to wear:

Fur:
I want that fur skirt!
Which is absolutely ridiculous to sport in LA... but I don't care.
I will be on the lookout when her collection hits the stores.

Femme:

Channeling Rachel Zoe:

Lovely Suits:
I love love love the flares, the cuts, the patterns of the pants.

White and Black Trim:

Winter-Wear:
I must have that cape.
And I love the neckline on the plaid coat.

All in all, I applaud this collection.
What a great start!
And I love how she used my favorite simple black ankle booties with almost every outfit.

I LOVE FASHION WEEK!
More fabulous collections to come.

San Francisco.

I have fallen madly in love.
With the city of San Francisco.

[Sweater: Vintage, Shorts & Tights: Express, Sunnies: Ray Bans]

Being a San Jose native, I've been up here many times.
But there seems to be something about the vibe of this city that has now completely captured me.

= = =

I skipped on out of LA this Superbowl weekend to enjoy a much needed mini trip that quickly became one of my most memorable trips up here:

[Wedges: Bamboo]

Waiting for my friend Avery to beat traffic and locate me in Union Square despite her dying phone.
Who better to hang out with while waiting than my roomies who I can't seem to get enough of.

Cynthia

Tracy.

After scarfing down a mysteriously creamy pastry and a double shot of espresso at the little stand in Union Square, Avery found me!

Fast forward after lunch and mimosas, it was abundantly clear:
It was time to shop.

Now, I made a resolution not to shop, but a last-minute amendment was made and it now became:
No shopping in Los Angeles.

(Plus, sales tax is cheaper in SanFran so technically, I'm saving)
This might be a reason why I am returning shortly.

With Avery being more of a Niketown sort of gal, while I was more of the entire Market Street kind of shopper, we said our goodbyes and went our separate ways.

At that point, I probably should've called it a day...
But.
The city and all its glorious shops were calling my name!

I love how people here walk to get to their destinations.
I also cannot believe we did not drive a vehicle anywhere for 2 straight days.

Taking a short little break to rest my feet.
I clearly underestimated the angle of the slopes and its consequences while walking all day around town.

The rest of our day was dedicated to relaxing while perusing through stores and finding a Starbucks.

Did I mention, the weather gods came together to grant me a beautiful weekend here?

80 degrees.
Can't beat that.

Mixed with c;ear skies with the Golden Gate?
How could you not fall in love?

= = =

But the top 5 highlights of my weekend have to be:
1.) Traveling with and seeing my true friends, where time and distance mean absolutely nothing.
2.) Roaming the empty streets at 3 AM with new friends trying to locate the nearest Del Taco while purposely not using a navigation system. (Why did we even try?)

3.)  Toasting one too many shots and sweating it out on a dancefloor with no respect for personal space or age limit for attendees.

4.) Exploring just how much space the inside of a Chrysler has and can handle.

5.) Being able to take a breather, as short as it was, from the non stop busy-ness that life back in LA brings and has now once again commenced.

= = =

I'm more convinced than ever that I want to return to my roots sometime soon.

But for now, we'll take it one step at a time.
See you in March.
