Nicholas K.

Even though the fashion craze is in Paris, Nicholas K's collection needs to be recognized.

In light of our crazy earthquake weather (eep!), this is in hopes of cooler temperatures, and a practical reason to wear parkas, tights and boots.

I introduce you to the very wearable Nicholas K Spring 2011 Ready to Wear Collection.
Yes, I do want every single piece.
I'd wear it every single day.

I'm doing a mental check list of look-a-like items I already have in my closet!

YES please!

My favorite look:

You like?
I love.

Moschino.

Whenever I see a new collection, I ask myself... where would I wear that?

In Moschino's Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection, where are we going?

We're going to the rodeo!

Yes, we are wearing polka dots:

Stripes:
Definitely in love with look #2.
I did a similar look last month:

In a dress:
Oh my... I just can't get enough of the colors, patterns, shape... LOVE it!

Gorgeous Skirts:
I want skirt #2!

Cool jackets:
Seriously... how cool is jacket #2?

Suited:
I spy a polka dot bag.

And my favorite, definitely ready to wear outfit:
Loving the: headband, belt, bag and shoes.

I dig the energy of Moschino's collection!

Sweltering Sunday.

Summer does not want to go out without a fight.
This entire weekend, the heat was over 100 degrees, and it was relentless.

If you did not wear a tank top... I don't know how you'd survive.

[Shirt & Leggings: F21, Wedges: Qupid, Belt: Vintage]

If only it were acceptable to walk around like that all day.

The only thing to do this weekend, was to stay in cool air conditioned establishments, and eat icy cold snackaroos.

Mango Ice @ Guppy's

Condensed Milk to top it off.
That we definitely did not end up using.

My unhealthy frozen yogurt topping medley

As happy as a button with my fro-yo.

This weather seriously limits your choices in clothing.
I want to bring out my boots, my scarves, my sweaters.

I'll be waiting Autumn.Any day now.

Jeffrey Campbell.

One of my favorite shoe designers.
Ever.

1.) He makes shoes.
2.) I go crazy for them.
3.) But I am scolded not to give in to my desires.
4.) And I fall into a minor depression.

My newest obsession:
{Shoewawa}

New shoe.
Crazed desire.
Scolding.
Depression.

The cycle continues.

Monique Lhuillier.

Whenever I see any of Monique Lhuillier's gowns, I always wish... I had a ball to attend.
My favorite in her Spring 2011 Ready to Wear collection has to be her poppy red color that isn't the muted red tones you typically see on evening gowns.
It has a youth about it that makes you want to reach out and touch it.

Here are some more of her beauties for you to drool over:
Gems.

Even though dress #1 reminds me of an old shower curtain of my childhood, I still like it.
A lot.

Metallics:
Hello dress #1 & 3!

Sparkly Sequins:

White:
I love how tight the dress looks around the knee.
Tight as in, literally tight and snug.

These outfits crack me up because they are not office-friendly, but I imagine myself wearing this to work.
Wouldn't that be fabulous if everyone dressed to work like this?
Can you imagine how long it would take to get ready in the morning?
Ha!

Monique Lhuillier,
You are one of my favorites.

Karen Walker.

I am a huge fan of skirts.
If I could wear skirts every day of the week, I would.

There is a shift in the world of fashion though.
No longer is it sassy to wear the mini skirts, but instead, fashion's looking more to the lady-like way of wearing knee-length skirts with a flare or a nice set of pleats.

Designer Karen Walker epitomized this in her Spring 2011 Ready to Wear line:

It's just so feminine.
I LOVE it!
Especially the yellow one.
I'd like to wear it and twirl around in it.

What do you think?

Ralph Lauren.

Ralph Lauren's Spring 2011 Ready to Wear Collection is very western meets tinsel.
I'm thinking... Christmas in Texas perhaps?

I'll let you be the judge of the fringes.

Next, I really, and I mean really like the way they use metallics:
I would dare to wear the blazer and the last dress in this picture.
Can't you imagine the fringes dancing all around while you're walking around?
How fun!

Definitely liking the shape and movement of the long skirt and the white dress with the poofed up sleeves.
They look like fluffly little clouds atop your shoulders.

Of course, Ralph Lauren showcased their beautiful dresses and gowns:
Wow.
I love the white dress.
It looks so comfortable and simple. Gah!

I am anticipating seeing gown #2 or 3 on the red carpet.

And lastly, this look is so cute.
I have to let it be on its own:

I love the pale blue gingham!
(It reminds me of an old pillow I used to have...)
Do you like?

Pretty in Pink.

I've never been a huge fan of pink.
Let alone on shoes.

But these... I must have.

Pink Jeweled High Heels by Ballin.

I have no idea when/where I'd ever wear these.
But that's never the point.

Studded Ankle Booties 'Electric' by Kurt Geiger.

Now these, I'd wear.
Every day.
Gah!

Weekend.

Can you believe it's already Fall?
Geez... I can clearly remember New Years like it was yesterday.

The signs for Fall are here though, despite the deceiving weather.
I can't wait to pull out my tights, boots and scarves!

But until the weather permits, I will remain in this weird summer/fall limbo that always hits Los Angeles in late September.

[Shirt: H&M, Skirt: Have]

[Shoes: Mixx]

Alright.
I do love these new mesh suede ankle booties.

But! 2 problems:
1.) They're white, and I've literally scuffed them up on every and anything.
2.) The arch gives my calves a workout I never intended to give them. I'm sorry.

This weekend, I came across a delightful little garage sale right on the lawn behind me.
I was just going to take a lookey. But my lookey ended up in me walking away with some goodies.
Posts with those to come!
Hello to the generous couple who sold me their new-to-me items!

So, this weekend was meant for relaxation.
I did my best to accomplish this arduous task that in detail amounted to 2 things:
Eating + Sleeping.

Aren't the colors so pretty?

After waking up from a 3-hour nap in the middle of my Saturday, the only thing on my mind was frozen yogurt.

Did you know Yogurtland's spoons are biodegradable?

Another option to quench your cottonmouth after an ungodly amount of unnecessary sleep midday?
Shaved ice + mango.

On to our delicious dinner:

Sorry for the blurry shots.
I couldn't keep steady for the life of me.

My favorite: spicy salmon handroll.

Akasaka in Hacienda Heights.
The best sushi restaurant ever.

More fashion posts to come!
