Emmy Gowns.

Besides my beloved Mad Men, the only reason I like the Emmy's:
The Gowns.

Claire Danes in Armani Prive

Nina Dobrev in Zuhair Murad
(my personal favorite of the night)

Lea Michele in Oscar de la Renta

January Jones in Atelier Versace

Dianna Agron in Carolina Herrera

Emily Deschanel in Max Azria Atelier

Heidi in Marchesa

Kelly Osbourne in Tony Ward
(Surprised? Yeah, me too)

Jayma Mays in Burberry Prorsum

Heather Morris in Soltani

Overall, I don't mean to sound like Debbie Downer, but I wasn't that impressed with last night's fashion.
Were you?

I felt like the women could have brought more Hollywood GLAM to the red carpet.
But that just might be me being demanding.

But the perfect example of the bar of expectations can be exhibited right here:
Eva Longoria Parker in Robert Rodriguez

...
C'mon Eva!
You could do better than that!
Remember this?

What happened?

Sigh.
I will wait patiently for the Oscars.

Kate Lanphear.

{Hanneli}

This photograph was taken over a year ago.
Yet every thing Kate wears is in style now.

She has a pretty smile.

Diane Kruger.

{At Chanel Resort 2010 Fashion Show}

I really like her.

I don't know if I'm kidding myself, but I'd like to believe she's a really down-to-earth celebrity.

She supposedly does her own hair + makeup.
Who does that nowadays??
Diane Kruger.

And she's so cute with Joshua Jackson.
Don't you think??

He says in his interviews, he doesn't really care about fashion/style.
But he will amuse Diane and be patient while she gets ready.

How cute.

Boyfriend Shorts.

Last night I wistfully said to Mijean, "I want a pair of boyfriend shorts."

She asked, "What's that?"

So here we are:

{Stockholm Streetstyle}

I like these shorts!
Most shorts are bootylicious.
Not that I mind, because if you've got the stems for shorts, why not flaunt them.

But these boyfriend shorts are not so much about skin baring.
They're more... demure- but grungy at the same time with all its rips and tears.

Anytime you have the opportunity (if the weather allows), to wear a pair of black tights underneath denim, take it.

They do come a little shorter though...

I WANT.

John Mayer.

The countdown has commenced!

I am going to see the love of my life at the Hollywood Bowl this Sunday!

Honestly, he has reached a pretty low point this year with all the hoopla from the Playboy article.
He essentially made a fool of himself.

(There have been so many quizzes titled: Is John Mayer a douche bag? Yes or no?)

But since the interview and the awful media backlash, he's been pretty quiet and just gone back to doing his music and being less of an attention-starved celebrity.

Thanks John.
I knew you'd go back to your roots.

The last time I saw John in concert was when he released Continuum.
Oh-em-gizzle.
He came on stage with his hair buzzed and tattoos a plenty.
I died.

(But this was back when he was dating Jenn. I honestly can't stand her. Thank God that's over. She's so not worthy. I cringed every time I saw a tabloid mag with pictures of her all over him. Come on now.)

Oh, and of course, musically- he rocked it.

I am SO looking forward to this Sunday evening!
If only my boyfriend could muster up the same excitement.
It's Battle Studies!

After all, what's there not to love?

Feeling Floral.

Typically, I shy away from anything floral.
Not that I have anything against it- I love flowers, but I just feel it's a bit dainty and fragile-ish.
I don't really like that vibe so I never felt drawn to floral print clothing.

But with the denim shirt I cling to this summer, and a not-too-frilly flower skirt, who can say no to an outfit like this on a warm summer LA day?

[Skirt: Mind Code, Denim Shirt: Miley (yes, Miley Cyrus), Black Tank Top: Express]

We were down in the hipster art district of downtown LA today.
My sister and I joke that we don't feel hip enough to sit next to the random artist strumming away at his acoustic guitar at the coffee shop across the street from us.

But he did provide a nice soundtrack to our informal photo shoot.
"Thank you random citizen."

I appreciate the vibrant colors of flowers that spill onto LA's tagged up sidewalks.

So I have a theory about watches that neither of my sisters care to embrace.

[Watch: George Elliot]

This men's watch was $8 at Wal Mart.
It cost me another $8 to get the extra links removed.
I understand that a name brand watch is nice. Who doesn't want a Rolex?
But your wallet feels great when you can find loopholes around unnecessary purchases.
So if you are looking for a bulky watch, and you don't have $300+ to spend on it, then you can take my route.

[Shoes: Mossimo]

Next up, Miss Mijean.

[Romper: Better B, Sunglasses: Gifted]

The wind was blowing and the ruffles started lifting off, and Mijean goes, "I feel like that dinosaur Jurassic Park... What's it called?"

I was like, "Omigosh! The raptor!!"

So it's now the raptor romper.

[Shoes: Bumper]

So real quick, Bumper is my bf's shoe line. Super cute, super affordable shoes.
Look through their line and stock your shoe collection with them!!

Simple Sunday.

Sunday, we meet again.

After church, we deliberated on what to eat for lunch.
Our hungover friends could not meet us for Peruvian food, so we will wait till next week.

2nd choice was Pho.
But my divalicious little sister can't stand the smell of it, so we settled for something everyone is always in the mood for:
Japanese Ramen.

In front of Daikokuya:
[Shirt: The Hanger, Leather Shorts: Solemio, Scarf Headband: Vintage]

My new wedges came out to play today.
And of course, I somehow scuffed them up in a matter of 10 feet walking distance.

[Shoes: Qupid (http://www.makemechic.com/)]

Tall iced coffee, unsweetend, with a little bit of half & half.
Coffee = love.

See?
So happy.

My little Mijean.

I see my sister a good 10-20 hours a day.
And yet, I can't get enough of her.
